(A digest of which is included below)

A Point to Note:- it will be much quicker to contact your local branch membership person to become a member as the National Office takes some time to process a membership application.

JOINING FSNA:-

Those Eligible to be Members:-

Regular membership:- persons in receipt of a pension under the Public Service Superannuation Act, The Canadaian Forces Superannuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Superannuation Act, or the Judges Act, and spouses and surviving spouses of contributors who are or were in receipt of a pension.
Associate membership:- future pensioners of the above-mentioned pension plans.

Membership Rights and Privileges:-

Regular members are entitled to take in the branch election, to hold any elected office, to be selected to be delegate to an Annual General Meeting, Special General Meeting or Convention. All regular and associate members receive the quarterly publication “ON GUARD” and the estate planning workbook “You and Your Survivors”

Membership Categories:-

(1) Single Membership; One eligible member
(2) Double Membership; Two eligible members who are spouses of each other
(3) Associate Membership; future pensioner

Dues Rates and Methods of Payment:-

Dues Deducted at Source (DDS):- Members can have monthly dues of $2.50 for single and $3.35 for double deducted directly from their superannuation payments provided they sign a form (available at National FSNA site below) authorizing Public Works and Government Services Canada to deduct their dues from their pension cheque. (Note- This method of payment is not applicable to RCMP survivor allowances, judges' pensions, judges' survivor allowances, nor to associate membership.) Participation in dues deduction at source is voluntary and can be revoked at any time by notifying the National Office.

By Cheque:- Membership dues are based on a calendar year ending 31 Dec. Members who rather pay by cheque then use DDS can make a cheque payable to FSNA. Annual dues are $30.00 for a single, $40.20 for a double or $10.00 for an associate.

Membership period:-

The membership is renewable every year, on 1 Jan.

Any member whose dues are in arrears in excess of three months may, after due notice, be dropped from the rolls.
