This is the home page of the Duncan and District Branch (DDB) of the Federal Superannuates National Association (FSNA). All the information on this site pertains to this branch only.

WHO WE ARE:-

The DDB is one of the five branches comprising the BCCIR of the FSNA.

This Branch's area is from Mill Bay in the south, Ladysmith in the north and the islands of Saltspring and Thetis over in the east.

Membership in the FSNA is open to all retired members of the Public Service, Military, RCMP and their spouses. Present membership totals some 780 people in all

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE FSNA:-
  • To Advocate measures beneficial to annuitants and potential annuitants of the PSC, CAF and RCMP and other Federal Agencies or bodies deemed appropriate by the National Board of Directors;
  • To Oppose measures inimical to annuitants and potential annuitants;
  • To Promote the general welfare of those mentioned above;
  • To Inform and assist annuitants and potential annuaitants mentioned above with regard to their rights as annuitants; and
  • To Cooperate with other organizations in furtherance of mutual objectives.
  • To make recommendations to the Association regarding any maters considered appropriate and/or beneficial to annuitants individually or as a group.
OUR PURPOSE:- as a Branch of the FSNA is to:-
  • Communicate with our members through periodic meetings, newsletters, special information meetings and training sessions;
  • Recruit new members;
  • Submit resolutions to the Region for furtherance to the National Convention;
  • Administer the affairs of the Branch;
  • Participate in local provincial advocacy, dealing with issues of importance to superannuates and seniors in our community; and
  • Fulfill our responsibilities under FSNA By-Laws.
MEETING INFORMATION:-

General meetings are held four times a year: the third Thursday of January, April, July and October. Meetings start at 10:30 AM and comprise of a general meet and greet session followed by the business meeting, lunch and a topical speaker. Location is at the Silver Bridge Inn, Duncan Travel Lodge.
