| WHO WE ARE:-
The NVIB is one of the five branches comprising the BCCIR of the FSNA. The branch covers Northern Vancouver Island from Parksville to Port Hardy. The majority of our
members live in the Comox Valley. However, we have a good sized group residing in the Campbell River area and points further north, such as Sayward, Alert Bay, Gold River,
Port Alice, Port Hardy, Thasis, and Sointula. We also have members living on Denman and Hornby Islands, in Qualicum Beach, Powell River, Edmonton, North Saanich, Fort St.
John and New Zealand.
As of 3 March 2008, our branch consists of 1946 members and spouses/partners.

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE FSNA:-
- To Advocate measures beneficial to annuitants and potential annuitants of the PSC, CAF and RCMP and other Federal Agencies or bodies
deemed appropriate by the National Board of Directors;
- To Oppose measures inimical to annuitants and potential annuitants;
- To Promote the general welfare of those mentioned above;
- To Inform and assist annuitants and potential annuaitants mentioned above with regard to their rights as annuitants; and
- To Cooperate with other organizations in furtherance of mutual objectives.

OUR PURPOSE:- as a Branch of the FSNA is
to:-
- Communicate with our members through periodic meetings, newsletters, special information meetings and training sessions;
- Submit resolutions to the Region for furtherance to the National Convention;
- Administer the affairs of the Branch;
- Participate in local provincial advocacy, dealing with issues of importance to superannuates and seniors in our community; and
- Fulfill our responsibilities under FSNA By-Laws.

MEETING INFORMATION:-
General meetings, preceded by a buffet lunch, are held four (4) times a year, generally on the second Wednesday in March, June, September and December.

The Executive holds its monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of the month except in July and August.
