This is the home page of the Sidney Branch of the Federal Superannuates National Association (FSNA). All the information on this site pertains to this branch only.

WHO WE ARE:-

The Sidney Branch is one of the five branches comprising the BCCIR of the FSNA. The membership of the Sidney and District Branch of the FSNA is drawn mostly from Sidney, the north Sannich Penninsular and the Gulf Islands. A number of members who have moved away from the area have retained membership in the branch, so we also have scattered membership across the country..

As of 9 April 2008, our branch consists of 1493 members, spouses / partners and associates.

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE FSNA:-
  • To Advocate measures beneficial to annuitants and potential annuitants of the PSC, CAF and RCMP and other Federal Agencies or bodies deemed appropriate by the National Board of Directors;
  • To Oppose measures inimical to annuitants and potential annuitants;
  • To Promote the general welfare of those mentioned above;
  • To Inform and assist annuitants and potential annuaitants mentioned above with regard to their rights as annuitants; and
  • To Cooperate with other organizations in furtherance of mutual objectives.
OUR PURPOSE:- as a Branch of the FSNA is to:-
  • Communicate with our members through periodic meetings, newsletters, special information meetings and training sessions;
  • Recruit new members;
  • Submit resolutions to the Region for furtherance to the National Convention;
  • Administer the affairs of the Branch;
  • Participate in local provincial advocacy, dealing with issues of importance to superannuates and seniors in our community; and
  • Fulfill our responsibilities under FSNA By-Laws.
MEETING INFORMATION:-

General meetings are held four (4) times a year on Saturday mornings in February, April, September and November.

The Executive meet on the Monday three (3) weeks prior to the branch meeting and on the Monday immediately following.
