WHO WE ARE:-

The BCCIR is composed of five branches of the NAFR. The five branches cover Vancouver Island and the adjoining Islands from Victoria to Port Hardy. The NAFR is an organization of retired members of the Public Service of Canada (PSC), the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and federally appointed Judges formed for the purpose of providing a strong and consistent voice to the Federal Government on issues of common concern to retirees.

The total membership of our five branches is in excess of 9650.

With the 79 other branches of NAFR from the West Coast to the East Coast, we make up a very strong national organization, currently with a membership of more than 160,000, capable of representing seniors who have contributed so much in public service over the years.

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE NAFR:-
  • To Advocate measures beneficial to retirees and potential retirees of the PSC, CAF, RCMP, federal Judges and other Federal Agencies or bodies deemed appropriate by the National Board of Directors;
  • To Oppose measures inimical to retirees and potential retirees;
  • To Promote the general welfare of those mentioned above;
  • To Inform and assist retirees and potential retirees mentioned above with regard to their rights as retirees; and
  • To Cooperate with other organizations in furtherance of mutual objectives.
OUR PURPOSE:- as a Region of the NAFR is to:-
  • Communicate with our member branches through periodic meetings and training sessions;
  • Submit resolutions to the National Convention;
  • Administer the affairs of the Region;
  • Participate in local/provincial advocacy, dealing with issues of importance to retirees and seniors in our Region; and
  • Fulfill our responsibilities under NAFR By-Laws.
MEETING INFORMATION:-
