We meet four times a year, varying the locations between Nanaimo, Parksville and
Port Alberni. Generally there is a business session followed by a speaker. Following
the meeting an optional lunch is served. There is no charge for attending the meetings. Lunch prices vary depending on location.

Date/Time: June 17, 2010 at 11:00AM, doors open at 10:00AM. 

Reservations: Your local FSNA volunteer will phone between Thursday June 3 and Sunday June 6 to ask you whether you plan to attend the lunch.

Directions: Dogwood Street is 0.8 km West of the intersection of McMillan St. and W. Island Hwy. Turn right onto Dogwood St. Meeting room is about halfway between the parking and the main entrance,look for the FSNA sign.

Meeting/Lunch: There will be a short business meeting followed by a talk , concluding at about 12:30. Lunch will be served at 1:00 PM in the Restaurant. The lunch will be chicken breast a la Swiss, vegetables, potatoes, dessert, tea/coffee. Cost, including gratuities and tax, will be $17.00 per person, payable at the door on arrival.

Guest Speaker: Ms Sandy McNicol will speak on “Living with Chronic Pain” She is a retired Psychiatric Nurse who has given seminars throughout North America on this subject to other members of the medical profession. Her specialty is Interstitial Cystitis, a chronic condition in which the walls of the bladder become irritated and inflamed, and shea former Chairperson of the Canadian Interstitial Cystitis Society. This is most common for women, but affects men also with other related conditions such as chronic pelvic pain, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and systemic lupus erythematosus. name is mentioned the Health Canada Interstitial Cystitis Network websites.

Cancellations: If you confirm your attendance, please be aware of our cancellation policy. The Branch is required to pay for all meals ordered on your behalf; therefore, if you subsequently are unable to attend, you must cancel your reservation to avoid being charged for the meal.
