About us
The Federal Superannuates National Association operating as the National Association of Federal Retirees is the largest and most influential advocacy group, promoting the interests and protecting the benefits of retired federal employees, now and in the future.
The Nanaimo Branch is one of the five branches comprising the British Columbia Coast and Islands Region (BCCIR) of the Federal Superannuates National Association (FSNA). The Nanaimo Area Branch covers a very substantial portion of the centre of Vancouver Island, including Qualicum Beach, Parksville, Tofino and Port Alberni which contain widely diverse urban, rural, farming and retirement communities.
Within our area, we energetically support the aims and objectives of the Association, represent the interests of retired Public Service, Military and Royal Canadian Mounted Police retirees while, at the same time, involving ourselves in our community activities to enhance the image and effectiveness of the Association. Our membership currently stands at over 1,750 members.
In our efforts to extend the effectiveness of the Association we have an active membership recruitment program. Our participation in such programs as the revenue Canada Low Income Tax program which helps seniors with the tax returns is another example of us reaching out to our communities and attracting new members.
